Academic

As a guest senior lecturer, I work at Nottingham Trent University, UCL, London and Lund University, Sweden and I consult as an academic mentor at Central St Martins.
I continue to learn lots from my students (BA and MA varieties) about how to ‘get my swag on’ and other essentials of modern living. In return, I teach them about branding and marketing, food trend research, consumer behaviour, and how to think and communicate ideas and concepts in olfactory marketing, mouthfeel, consumer perception etc.

My personal research is in the arena of food/beauty/smell from both a cultural, historical and societal perspective. When I am able, I give academic papers at symposiums and conferences (some of which are published in journals retrospectively).

I also offer a variety of public lectures ranging from ‘5 Macro Trends for the Next 5 Years’ to ‘The Future of Food’ to ‘Scent and Olfactory Marketing’. These talks or curated symposia do have academic underpinning but are aimed at everyman and people from the creative industries, advertising and media.
